Welcome to my world of classical arts and culture! I am Abhi, a scientist-turned-artist. I have a deep-rooted passion and dedication for Hindustani classical music and Bharatnatyam dance. My passion for these performing arts was always running parallel to my studies since childhood, and in my career as a scientist. Eventually, it took over and I gave up the fixed mechanical routine of my job and daily life. As a singer trained in the rich traditions of Hindustani classical music, I delve into the fineness of raga, rhythm, and soul-stirring melodies. Alongside, my journey in Bharatnatyam spans years of graceful storytelling through intricate movements and powerful expressions. Dancing grounds me, while singing connects me to a higher energy.
I delve deeper into life when I sing the Hindi and Sanskrit chants and mantras. This gave me motivation to tutor the chants for those who are on the way to their deeper path in their lives, by teaching them the proper pronunciation and spiritual significance of these chants.

I believe that music and dance are gateways to culture, spirituality, and self-expression, connecting us to something timeless and profound. Here, I am thrilled to share with you my journey, performances, and insights into the world of Indian classical arts and culture. As both a performer and a teacher, I’ve had the privilege of performing across Europe and India, and now, I’m excited to bring Bharatnatyam and music to students worldwide.

Mrs. Amala Anthony Sureshkumar is a renowned Bharatnatyam teacher in Europe and Sri Lanka. She is associated with two major dance boards in Europe; OFAAL (London) and IITA (Switzerland) and serves a senior examiner in the whole Europe. Known for her spoken perfection and soft character, she nurtures her students with both discipline and motherly affection. Learning dance from her is a complete blessing.
She started learning Bharatnatyam at a young age of 4 in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. She learned Bharatnatyam under esteemed gurus in Sri Lanka and was honored with the title Nathiya Kalaimani. Her passion for dance led her to work as a dance teacher at Vembadi Women’s College in Jaffna, for 10 years. She actively encouraged her students to participate in various competitions, achieving great success.
After her marriage, she remained dedicated to her art, balancing her responsibilities while continuing to teach. In 1992, due to the tense political situation in Sri Lanka, she moved to Chennai, India. There, she studied Nattuvangam for three years under the legendary Adiyar K Lakmanan and completed her diploma, Bharatha Choodamani. In 1995, she moved to Germany and with just 10 students founded her dance school, Niruthya Natyalayam in Leverkusen. Since then, she has tirelessly worked to spread Bharatnatyam, guiding numerous students through their Arangetrams and mentoring many who have gone on to become dance teachers themselves. She continues to pass on this timeless art to the younger generation in Germany, preserving and nurturing the beauty of Bharatnatyam with dedication and love.
